Introduction
The expert mode is a feature that allows you to fine-tune the IA settings of a particular site. This allows you to build a WAF security policy that is perfectly suited to the technologies of a given site.
⚠️ CAUTION: Incorrect manipulation of these settings can affect the security and/or operation of your site.
Setting up a drive
To modify the drives of a site, go to the Site Configuration, then to the Expert tab, and press the Modify button in the upper right corner.
A drive generally consists of 3 parameters:
- Activation / Deactivation: make the drive active or inactive.
- Sensibility: a decimal value between 0 and 1.
- The closer the value is to 1, the higher the penalty applied to an IP's credibility.
- The default value proposed by the cluster is shown in italics on a grey background. If you leave the entry blank, this default value will be restored.
- Ban base : a basic value in seconds as the ban duration if this drive bans an IP. This value is weighted by the drive's Sensitivity, plus a random factor. As a result, the ban duration oscillates between 100% and 1000% of the base value.
Other drive parameters may exist, and are explained in the tooltips/documentation pages provided.
To save your changes, click on the Save button in the top right-hand corner.
The modified drives will appear with a blue border.
If you wish to restore all default values, you'll find a Restore defaults parameters button at the bottom right of the page.
